Ambassadorial Roundtable : Emerging security threats & development in Africa

Video Link    Pictures    The "Centre Européen de Recherches Internationales et Stratégiques-CERIS" and “The Centre d’Etudes des Crises et Conflits Internationaux-CECRI"are very pleased to invite you to attend the Ambassadorial Roundtable on "Emerging security threats & development in  Africa" scheduled for the Saturday May 13, 2017 from 09:30 am to 12:30 pm.  (Venue: Ministry of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, 44 Boulevard Léopold II, 1080 Bruxelles- Salle Wallonie- Bruxelles, 6th Floor- Lift A-parking available).  The African continent and in particular the Pan-Sahel, has been affected by terrorism the last two decades (Mali, Niger, Somalia, Kenya, Nigeria, etc..). What are the tools that African states can mobilize to overcome the security issue? Is the G-5 an effective instrument? Is the international presence and support helpful?  How can the collaboration between states become more effective? Can the (in) security situation be overcome through social development, democratization and good governanc? The conference will be held in English and French.
