ON CAMPUS LIVE CLASS: His Excellency Mr. Baye Moctar DIOP will be our guest speaker on Friday May 24th, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. He will give a conference on the “The foreign policy of Senegal“. Born in Dakar in 1972, H.E. Mr. Baye Moctar DIOP, Senior Foreign Affairs Advisor, is currently the Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to the Kingdom, of Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union. From 2016 to 2021, he served as Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Baye Moctar DIOP held various positions, including Deputy Head of Mission with the rank of Minister-Counsellor at the Embassy of Senegal in Italy from 2014 to 2016, at the Embassy of Senegal in Spain from 2013 to 2014 and at the Embassy of Senegal in France from 2012 to 2013. H.E. Mr. Baye Moctar DIOP also served as Second Counsellor at the Embassy of Senegal in Côte d’Ivoire from 2004 to 2007 and then transferred as First Counsellor at the Embassy of Senegal in Canada from 2007 to 2010. At Headquarters, he served as Head of the Africa Unit from 2001 to 2004 and Technical Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of African Affairs from 2010 to 2012. He is the author of the book “African Unity between Ambition and Willpower“, published by Harmattan-Senegal in January 2022. A diplomat by training, H.E. Mr. Baye Moctar DIOP holds the Senegalese National School of Administration (ENA) diploma in Diplomacy (2001), a Master’s degree in English obtained in 1998 at Cheikh Anta DIOP University (Dakar) with a specialization in African literature and civilization and a graduate certificate in Public Administration and Governance in 2010 from University of Ottawa in Canada.
