Executive Master in Development Policy

In 2008, CERIS introduced its Executive Master in Governance and Development Policy (MADEV) designed to complement the Executive Master in International Politics, insofar as it tackles topics of growing importance in the field of international relations, such as the impact of Climate Change, Energy problems on Development, Sustainable Development, Good Governance, Land Grabbing or Migration. In a constantly changing world, development has become one of the major issues of the 21st century. This is why we believe that a specialised course must be devoted to it. Climate change summits are introducing new global development issues. The economic development of emerging countries and the growing shortage of traditional energy resources call for a reappraisal of the development models of industrialised countries. The programme’s overall aim is to study development issues from the points of view of both the emerging countries and industrialised societies. Every year, we choose conferences and courses on current affairs and the important events that will determine our future. To understand the new challenges of globalization, the role of new technologies in international relations and economic development, the new paradigms of sustainable development, green deal, new modes of energy production, transport and to comprehend the fundamental role that artificial intelligence or cyberspace will play in the future development of our societies are the goals we set ourselves. CERIS opens your mind to a global and holistic understanding of these major issues of the 21st Century thanks to interactive courses and conferences with the greatest international experts and professors from the most renowned institutes. CERIS training is based on a theoretical teaching of the subjects of international relations, geopolitics, geoeconomics, international economics, but also on practice and case studies based on current events. This thematic approach is supplemented by a study by geographical area of international relations, foreign and diplomatic affairs.
