
Charles Michel is a Belgian lawyer and politician. He became Minister for Development Cooperation in the Belgian government (2007-2011). He is also “Bourgmestre en titre” of the city of Wavre. Mr. Michel graduated the ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles) with a degree in law. Following his graduation he was accepted at the Brussels Bar as a lawyer. In October 2000 he was named Minister for Home Affairs and the Civil Service by the Wallonian community. Subsequently he was elected as member of the Belgian federal parliament. In February 2011 Charles Michel became President of his Party, the MR “Mouvement Réformateur”. He became Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium (2014-2019), he Currently Holding de position of President of the European Council.
